Dr. Patricia Baca

Dr. Patricia Baca joined the Foundation’s Board in January 2022. She is a champion of underserved populations and has spent decades advocating for equal opportunities for all, especially children. Dr. Baca has had many firsts – including the first Latina Deputy Superintendent for Denver Public Schools, the District’s first Bilingual Teacher and the first Latina Executive Director of Management (Labor) Relations. She served as the first Latina President of the Colorado Association of School Personnel Administrators and the first Latina Personnel Administrator in Jefferson County Public Schools.

As a central Latina presence in Denver’s larger community, Dr. Baca has served as a Trustee or Board Member for The Colorado Trust (where she also served as chair), Denver Botanic Gardens, Denver Film Society, Cherry Creek Arts Festival, Boys and Girls Club, the Bridge Project, the Denver Metropolitan Major League Stadium District and the University of Denver Alumni Association. She is a Founding Board Member of the Children’s Museum of Denver, the Colorado Association for Bilingual Bicultural Education and the Latino Leadership Institute at the University of Denver. Currently, she serves as Trustee at the Denver Center for Performing Arts and the Denver Art Museum.

In 2018 she was honored as a Trailblazer by the Latinas First Foundation. Dr. Baca graduated with a Bachelor’s from University of Denver, Master’s from University of Northern Colorado and Doctorate of Education from the University of Houston.
