Jesse King

Jesse King consults in the arenas of leadership, organizational development, and philanthropy.  His work in the nonprofit sector includes Mountaineering Program Director for the Colorado Outward Bound School, work for the Annie E. Casey Foundation, the Children’s Defense Fund, the Ford Foundation, the Irvine Foundation, The Black Community Crusade for Children, and the Center for Creative Leadership. In the public sector, he worked as an adjunct trainer with the United States of America’s Office of Personnel Management. His experience in the private sector includes six years on the board of directors of a telecommunications company (Net2Phone) and eight years on the board of a national outdoor gear and apparel retailer (REI Co-op Inc.). He currently has the delightful pleasure to serve as an ambassador for Icelantic Skis, Golden Co.

Most recently Mr. King served as the Vice President and Chief Operations Officer for the Daniels Fund. Prior to that he served as a program manager at the Rockefeller Foundation with a portfolio focused on the development and engagement of promising social entrepreneurs and emerging philanthropists. Mr. King is active in the Colorado community, where he has served on the Denver Public School Commission for High School Reform and the board of the Denver Community Foundation.  His national community service included board service for the Funders for LGBTQ Issues and as chairperson for the Unitarian Universalist Ministerial Fellowship Committee.  He currently serves as the board chair of the Urban Sustainability Directors Network, and advisory board member of the Colorado Inclusive Economy.

Mr. King is the founder and Managing Director for Fulcrum Advisors LLC, a consulting firm that provides leadership development, executive coaching, inclusion/belonging learning strategies, talent and organizational development services to organizations and teams in the private, public, and independent sectors.  In the spirit of full disclosure: without consent or permission, Mr. King lives, works, and plays, on the tribal lands of the Tséstho’e (Cheyenne) and Núu-agha-tʉvʉ-pʉ̱ (Ute) people.
