University of Denver Newman Center for the Performing Arts

Created in 2002 at the University of Denver, the 180,000 square-foot Newman Center for the Performing Arts is regarded as one of the nation’s finest university arts centers.

The mission of the Newman Center for Performing Arts is to provide the highest quality performing arts experiences to the university and greater Denver community. It is dedicated to showcasing cultural diversity, stretching the imagination, and stimulating dialogue. Most notable is Newman Center Presents, a multi-disciplinary, multi-cultural performance series presenting renowned touring artists from around the world.

Newman Center for the Performing Arts has become an essential leader in arts education, serving adults and youth through master classes and workshops, many led by touring artists.

Bonfils-Stanton Foundation supports Newman Center for the Performing Arts’ Community Connections Initiative that aims to engage new audiences through community partnership development, strategic programming, and the investment in a full-time staff member focused on community engagement.

From September 2017 through May 2018, the Newman Center will host several performing arts groups to advance the goals of the Community Connections Initiative.
