Grantee Profile: Museum of Contemporary Art Denver
Denver’s Museum of Contemporary Art is the city’s largest art museum devoted entirely to the presentation of contemporary art. MCA Denver has positioned itself as a cultural hub and leader by serving both as a museum of artistic and academic excellence, and a laboratory of new ideas. Over the last several years, it has been recognized as one of the community’s most innovative institutions.
Located in a world-class facility designed by acclaimed architect David Adjaye, this non-collecting museum presents major exhibitions as well as lectures, public forums, workshops and special events. MCA Denver also provides edgy and innovative education programs for adults and teens.
Bonfils-Stanton Foundation offers support to MCA Denver over three years for general operations as part of the museum’s Elevated Heartbeat Campaign. MCA Denver has Core Institutional goals in mind: to expand high visibility exhibitions; to support Colorado artists through exhibitions and membership programs; and to strengthen marketing and communications; and expand the teen and adult programming.
