Grantee Profile: Americas for Conservation and the Arts
Americas for the Conservation and the Arts (AFC+A) uses the arts to activate and strengthen the Latino community’s voice on social justice and the environment, and advance cross-cultural dialogue. The organization highlights and offers visibility Latino art and artists concerned with environmental conservation and sustainability.
One of AFC+A’s signature programs is the Americas Latino Eco Festival (ALEF), an environmentally focused arts-centered multi-day gathering. The festival brings together prominent Latino artists of all disciplines, scientists, community and public policy leaders to raise the national dialogue on Latinos and conservation. It is the largest and only event of its kind in the United States.
