Grantee Profile: Alliance of Artists Communities
The Alliance of Artists Communities (AAC) is the international service organization serving artist residencies as well as artist-centered organizations and initiatives. The Alliance gives a collective voice on behalf of its members, small and large, that leverages support for the field as a whole; promotes successful practices in the field; and advocates for creative environments that support the work of today’s artists.
The Alliance began in 1990 when The MacArthur Foundation advocated for the creation of the Alliance of Artists Communities. What began with 18 organizations has now expanded to membership that includes more than 400 organizations and individuals, in 50 states and 20 countries, and advocates collectively on behalf of the more than 1,500 residency programs worldwide.
Bonfils-Stanton Foundation is proud to support the Alliance. Learn more about the Alliance of Artists Communities on their website: http://artistcommunities.org
