In April 2015, the Foundation awarded an Arts Innovation Fund grant to Springboard for the Arts to support the partnership between Springboard for the Arts, Issue Media Group, and Confluence Denver to expand coverage of Denver artists through a national platform; and to pilot Creative Exchange IdeaLab, a convening highlighting local and national artists and creative practitioners.

Springboard for the Arts is a national economic and community development organization for artists and by artists based in St. Paul, MN. The organization’s mission is to cultivate vibrant communities by connecting artists with the skills, information, and services they need to make a living and a life. Springboard for the Arts creates simple, practical solutions and systems that are then shared through on-line learning, stories and toolkits via a platform called Creative Exchange, a partnership with Issue Media Group and its network of online magazines.

Issue Media Group (IMG) is an award-winning media company that publishes weekly online magazines covering the growth, innovation, talent, and leadership that are moving cities, regions, and issues forward. Issue Media Group builds relationships with local stakeholders for support, thought leadership and readership. Since its inception in 2005, IMG has created a national network of 20+ online magazines, including Confluence Denver, and over a dozen custom publications and learning networks.

Springboard for the Arts will partner with Confluence, Denver Arts & Venues and Bonfils-Stanton to host the inaugural Creative Exchange IdeaLab. This one-day event will include an IdeaLab, a tour of Denver artists in action, and a workshop for artists and organizations looking to share and scale up their programming by creating toolkits.
