Grantee Profile: Colorado Symphony Association
The Colorado Symphony Orchestra is the state’s only full-time resident and professional orchestra. The orchestra includes 80 contract musicians, and offers more than 175 distinct concert programs across the Front Range. They garner national and international acclaim for their artistic quality and wide variety of performances from classical repertoire to contemporary composers. Having a professional symphony orchestra in Denver helps reinforce Denver as a serious, thriving arts and culture hub.
Education programs are extensive and include in-school programs, ensemble performances and youth concerts at Boettcher Concert Hall. The education programs, entitled Musicurious: Lifelong Learning with the Colorado Symphony, reflect the Colorado Symphony Orchestra’s commitment to engage students of all ages in an understanding and appreciation for classical and contemporary music.
Bonfils-Stanton Foundation provides general operating support for Colorado Symphony Orchestra. The CSO continually explores new partnerships, new venues and new program formats to reach diverse audiences. The Masterworks Series, POPS Series, and classical crossover Summer Concerts are among their most popular programs.
