Grantee Profile: Colorado Ballet
Colorado Ballet presents classical ballet and innovative dance through performances and educational programs that are integral to the cultural life of our community. Colorado Ballet is recognized as one of the top ballet companies in the country.
There are three programmatic elements of Colorado Ballet: the professional company performs full-length classical ballets and contemporary works; the education and community engagement programs reach underserved communities; and the Colorado Ballet Academy provides instruction to 550 children and adults.
Gil Boggs is the Artistic Director for Colorado Ballet. He is a former principal with the American Ballet Theatre and has worked with many notable choreographers from Agnes de Mille, Paul Taylor, Sir Kenneth MacMillan, Mark Morris to Jerome Robbins.
Bonfils-Stanton Foundation supports general operations and Colorado Ballet’s new venture entitled New Cultural Works Project. The initiative connects Colorado Ballet’s artistic and leadership teams with emerging choreographers and the community to reflect the heritage and people in Denver and across Colorado. New Cultural Works Project will explore how cultural identity influences the creation of the artist, the execution of dance and the culminating performances.
