Cristina Aguilar has been with Colorado Organization for Latina Opportunity and Reproductive Rights (COLOR) since 2012 and became its Executive Director in 2014. Previously, she worked in early childhood education at Community Development Institute, directing Head Start Pilot Innovation Projects. Prior to that, Cristina worked as a writer and editor for magazines and The El Paso Times. She co-founded the People of Color Caucus for One Colorado and was a mayoral appointee to Denver’s LGBT Commission, serving twice as Vice-Chair. Cristina is a 2014-15 German Marshall Memorial Fund Fellow. In 2012, she received the Circle of Latina Leadership’s Juana Bordas Leadership Legacy Award and was named to the Out Front Colorado Power List. Cristina has a Master’s in Communication and a Bachelor’s in Journalism.
