Foundation resources are invested to enrich Denver’s cultural assets, increase and enrich cultural participation, connect art and community in new and surprising ways, and “turn up the buzz” about Denver’s vibrant art scene. We award grants to:
Advance Excellence
The Foundation supports the visual and performing arts by:
- Funding arts organizations that demonstrate measurable benefit to metro-Denver and commit to continuous improvement in artistic product, organizational effectiveness and financial strength
- Practicing engaged philanthropy by supplementing dollars with non-financial support
- Using “principled nimbleness” to adjust our grant-making portfolio as situations change, new opportunities arise, and exceptions are warranted
Accelerate Innovation
The Foundation fosters innovation in the arts by:
- Providing incentive grants to test promising new ideas
- Awarding innovation grants to implement bold responses to new market realities
- Disseminating lessons about innovation through traditional and digital media
Turn up the Buzz
The Foundation strives to raise the profile of Denver’s arts scene by:
- Convening creative thinkers to brainstorm new ways to communicate about Denver’s cultural assets
- Launching a communication initiative to raise Denver’s cultural profile locally and nationally
